While the Podcasts section in iTunes 7's Library won't do the cool CoverFlow thing, as it does for albums, you can use a smart playlist to achieve the same effect.
- Go to File > New Smart Playlist...
- From the first drop-down menu, select Podcast
- From the second drop-down menu, select is true (which is the default).
- Make sure Live updating is checked, click on OK, and you're done.
The smart playlist will give you access to the View buttons for displaying cover art. If you have two or more computers and are tired of trying to figure out which podcasts you've listened to already, you can create another smart playlist that shows only unheard podcasts, and then share that playlist for access by your other computers.
- Create a new smart playlist, selecting Podcast and is true
- Click on the '+' to add another rule.
- Select Play Count and specify is less than and enter 1 in the blank field.
In iTunes 7, a podcast is not counted as played unless you listen to the whole thing. So, if you bug out of a podcast before the bitter end, it will still show up in your new podcasts playlist. One way around this is to add a Date Added rule and specify is in the last -- 2 -- days, or longer if you don't listen to your podcasts every day. Of course, you can always cheat and just drag the slider to the end.
