Some people, including me, find it very annoying that Adobe InDesign doesn't hide with the Command-H shortcut. On first glance, it seems that the Shortcut Manager of the application doesn't give one any chance of changing that.
Here's the trick to get it done: Command-H is used by the 'Hide/Show Frame Edges' command. If you change or delete this shortcut, Command-H will appear in its Mac-standard place in the InDesign menu. Easy, isn't it?
[robg adds: Variations of this work in Photoshop (and probably Illustrator and other Adobe apps as well). In Photoshop, I was able to just assign Command-H to Hide, and Photoshop told me it would then remove it from its View: Extras assignment. I thought we had documented this here once before, but I can't find it...]
