If you frequently download lots of files from web pages and are tired clicking each one of the links in order to download the files, you can save your time if you use this tip:

  1. Open the page that has the files you want to download
  2. Press Command-Option-A (to show Safari's Activity window) and you will see all links on that page, including the links to other pages
  3. Select those links belonging to the files or pages you want to download
  4. Press Command-C to copy the links
  5. Press Command-Option-L to open the Downloads window
  6. Click on the downloads window in order to activate it
  7. Press Command-V to paste the links (from memory)
All files will be downloaded to your desktop. This tip is useful also if you just want to have the links and you can also copy links as plain text from TextEdit, for instance. You can download anything: pages, images, videos, text, anything, as far as a URL pointing to the file is on the page you are visiting.

[robg adds: We've talked about the Activity Window before, and even, I believe, dragging and dropping URLs from it to the Downloads window. But I thought this was worth a mention as a method of downloading large numbers of linked items at a time.]
