As you know, Dashboard can be toggled from the Dock, Desktop, with a hot key, etc....

What isn't published yet is how to toggle Dashboard from the menu bar, as seen at right. If you want to do this, it is quite easy. You will need to first download Butler (donationware) and install it. Once Butler is installed, go to the Configuration panel. In the Configuration Panel, you will notice several categories, such as Hidden, Menu Bar (Left), Menu Bar (Natural), etc. Simply drag and drop the Dashboardoard icon from the Applications folder to one of the Menu Bar sections. When you do this, you will immediately notice Dashboard in the Menu Bar.

You will now be able to toggle Dashboard from the Menu Bar. My preference is to place it right next to Spotlight. If you control click on the Dashboard icon in the menu bar, it will bring up a menu to show the Dashboard application in the Finder.

[robg adds: This is but one of the reasons I love Butler -- you can easily place pretty much any icon you'd like in the menubar...]
