Change Calculator modes via the zoom button Apps
Not sure if this is of any use but here goes anyway ... clicking the green "maximize" button in Calculator cycles through the Basic, Scientific, and Programmer views.

[robg adds: Here's yet another non-standard maximize button behavior. Apparently, this behavior has changed sometime between December 2002 and today; back then, the green button created a tiny calculator window. That mode has apparently vanished, and now the green button is a shortcut for the modes shown in the View menu.]

It's not a "maximise" button.

From the apple HIG:
"Your application also sets the values for the initial size and position of a window, called the standard state. Don't assume that the standard state should be as large as possible; some monitors are much larger than the useful size for a window."

"The user can toggle between the standard state and the user state by clicking the zoom button."

So in an app like Calculator or iTunes mixer where there is no "user state" the zoom button toggles between several different standard states... which is a little weird I guess.

I really miss the mini calculator. I kept iit open most times right next to my mini iTunes window. I sure hope they bring it back.

My calculator seems to have disabled the green maximize button (from OS X 10.3.9). Under the View menu, however, I can switch between basic and advanced modes, though.

the RPN mode seems fairly useless since it does not show you the contents of the stack. Anyone know how to get it to show this?
