Save multiple Photo Booth images to iPhoto

This one's really simple, actually. I've been having a lot of fun cheering people up by letting them distort their face in real time and take pictures of it using Photo Booth. Most of the pictures I like to save and hold on to in iPhoto.

But Photo Booth's little iPhoto button only imports the currently selected image. And Photo Booth doesn't let you select more than one image. Well, this can make importing tedious. Conveniently, Photo Booth stores it's images in your user's Pictures directory, in a subdirectory named Photo Booth.

Using Automator, you can get the Photo Booth folder, then get that folder's contents, then import those contents to iPhoto. I've created an album for Photo Booth pictures, so I import straight to that. The iPhoto Import action allows you to delete the source images after importing them should you like. For safety's sake, I leave this off and confirm a good import then delete all the Photo Booth images from inside the application.

To help automate the process even further, you can use "Ask for Confirmation" and then use that to allow time for review and then OK or Cancel the deletion of the original images. This archive (12KB) contains three versions of my workflow: one that just adds, one that adds and then deletes, and one that adds, asks for confirmation, and then deletes. These workflows may need to be slightly edited to make sure the path to the Photo Booth directory includes the user's short username rather than mine.
