Transfer Color Picker swatches between Macs Apps
Many applications these days (such as Pages, Keynote, iWeb, and Microsoft Office) use OS X's built in Color Panel to allow users to select the color for their objects. At the bottom of this Color Panel is a place to store swatches of colors. This is very useful if you are creating multiple pages in iWeb, for example, and you want to keep the colors consistent.

But what if you want to work on the project on more then one computer? How do you transfer those swatches from one computer to the other? After digging around, I found that the swatches were stored in a preference file in your home folder:
Just copy this from one computer to the similar location in the other, and you have transfered your Color Panel swatches.

Note: If you already have swatches setup on the target computer, that file will already exist. If you want to be able to go back to those swatches, make sure you back that file up somewhere else first.

Fantastic! This will be useful for me right away, because I work on graphics projects and I use more than one Mac, often, in this work. Til now I've been using Photoshop's swatches, and then the Apple Color Picker's version of the 'eyedropper' [which they unhelpfully changed to a magnifying glass icon, as if it were a magnifying tool and not a color sucker].

What clown decided that the iPod calendar view didn't need to show you the Location field? I guess they always use the same room at Apple.

don't forget, this doesn't just mean you can transfer swatches, you can use Automator to create a workflow for switching palettes too!!!

that's what i am going to do.
