10.4: Add Nokia E61 support to iSync Phones
Since the E61 is the latest mobile phone/PDA device from Nokia, and it's still a new thing, there is no iSync support yet (although Bluetooth pairing and browsing the device works just fine). So here is what you have to do to enable basic syncing of contacts and calendars/ with iSync Version 2.2.

First open /Applications: iSync.app: (Control-click and choose Show Package Contents): Contents: PlugIns: ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice: Contents: PlugIns: PhoneModelsSync.phoneplugin: Contents: Resources: MetaClasses.plist file in TextEdit, and add the following XML lines:
<key>com.nokia.E61</key>
  <dict>
    <key>Identification</key>
    <dict>
      <key>com.apple.cgmi+cgmm</key>
      <string>Nokia+Nokia E61</string>
      <key>com.apple.gmi+gmm</key>
      <string>Nokia+Nokia E61</string>
    </dict>
    <key>InheritsFrom</key>
    <array>
      <string>family.com.nokia.serie60v2.3</string>
    </array>
    <key>Services</key>
    <array>
      <dict>
        <key>ServiceName</key>
        <string>com.apple.model</string>
        <key>ServiceProperties</key>
        <dict>
          <key>ModelIcon</key>
          <string>NOKNGAGE.tiff</string>
          <key>ModelName</key>
          <string>E61</string>
        </dict>
      </dict>
    </array>
  </dict>
Please note the family.com.nokia.serie60v2.3 line in the above code. In that line, the serie60v23 tag is for Symbian 8.1. The E61 device has Symbian 9.1, but that 2.3 is the latest that iSync understands. So, just leave it like that.

Save the file and launch iSync (pair your E61 via Bluetooth firrst), and the E61 will be available for syncing. That's it. I also made a custom E61 image for iSync. That .tiff should go in the same folder as MetaClasses.plist. If you make it for yourself, just name the file NOKE61.tiff and change NOKNGAGE.tiff in the above XML.

I hope this will work for you -- it works just fine on my PowerBook 17", 1Ghz machines -- until Apple updates iSync and adds support for this beautiful device.

This hint will give you alarms that are NOT time zone aware.... will not copy Event notes to the device... and in general, will drive you nuts (it drove me nuts!). I struggled with getting the E61 to work well with all sorts of hacks, but eventually went to novamedia.de. Yeah, it costs 9 Euro for something I'll get free later, but it works, and it works well!!! (no affiliation, i promise :))

This didn't work for me. I went through as described, and yes, it does push information over, but I noticed that descriptions of events weren't synced. I tend to store useful information in there, so that was a deal-breaker for me, and I was a little worried that if I synced again, the event info might be wiped from my powerbook. Not cool. I tried one of the other free plugin hacks (which didn't work either) then ended up paying for one that finally did the job.

So, a vote of caution here - this hint might work for some, but check your data carefully and make sure you back up your address book and calendar data before the experiment (goes without saying, I'm sure...)

Does this hack enable also the sync'ing of pictures associated to the contacts in AddressBook?

Hi,
I've installed and use this hack and yes it works for the pictures in the contact address book.
It's also true that there is a trouble with timezone as for me all calendar event are one hour sooner in the ical application that in the E61.
