Use Safari PowerPC plug-ins on Intel Macs

With the release of Intel Macs, we now have an Intel native version of Safari, but not many third-party plugins are Universal yet. This leaves the Core Duo users without a way to use these plug-ins until the developers release updated plugins. Or does it?

Well, obviously there's a solution. Do a Get Info on Safari (select it and hit Command-I), and choose Open in Rosetta. Now all the PowerPC plug-ins will get loaded, and appear to work well. Of course, you're now running translated, so things are slower. But if you have a plug-in that you need to run, this will be your only choice until it's gone Universal.

I myself have just made a copy of safari, named it Safari (PPC), changed the icon, and only have that one with the Rosetta setting enabled. That way I can use Intel Safari for most things, and use PPC Safari only when I have to.
