Another way to add iSync support for certain phones System
This page at nova media contains a free iSync plug-in, which should enable iSync support for the following phones:
  • Motorola: V3C, V3i, V3x, E1000, V188, SLVRc350
  • Nokia: N70, N71, N80, N90, N91, N92, E60, E61, 9300, 9500
  • Siemens: M75, S75, SL75, SK65, SP65, S65, S6V, S66, S68, S88, EF81
  • Sony Ericsson: W550i, W900i
I haven't tested this plug-in personally, but I know iSync support for newer phones is always of interest here.

[robg adds: I haven't tested the plug-in either. If someone does, please comment on how well it worked. This previous hint detailed another plug-in solution for iSync.]

I just tried this and couldent get it to work. I'm using a Motorola E1000. The only diference now is that iSync sees that my phone is there only it states that it's still not supported.

this is getting really anoying.

Bring out an update Apple!

er... the software doesn't say it supports your Motorola... but it says it supports the Nokia E61. I downloaded the software (€ 10.-), installed it, followed the quick instructions in the read-me and it synced like a breeze! The infamous "PC-Suite" on the Nokia that only used to work with Windoze now just works through SyncML, no hassle! Only thing I noticed that if birthdays are set in AddressBook (so they show up in iCal automatically) instead of setting them in iCal, they won't display in the Nokia Calendar. But that's an iCal/AddressBook issue that needs to be addressed first...

I testet this on Nokia 9300, and it really is the exact same code as has been hinted about on MacOSXhints.com before. Actually, this is a little worse, because it uses an ugly icon to identify the phone with as well.

The easyest way to get Nokia 9300 support is to download my compiled script <a href="http://egil.net/Nokia9300.phoneplugin.zip">here</a>, and then unzip it in your personal Library/PhonePlugins folder (create it if it does not exist). Then follow the original instructions for adding phones as stated earlier on this site.

the easyest way ever
found on mac site
do this an it works

For iSync v 2.3.

Just go to your apps folder, Ctrl-click iSync.app, choose "Show package content"

Then go Contents->PlugIns->ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice->Contents->PlugIns->Nokia-9300i.phoneplugin->Contents->Resources

Open file MetaClasses.plist with Property List Editor

Change string
Root->com.nokia.9300i->Identification->com.apple.cgmi+cgmm
From Nokia+Nokia 9300i to Nokia+Nokia 9300
(Remove "i")

That's all

Samsung, anybody?
Authored by: willbank on Feb 09, '06 03:26:06AM
Niether of these hints cover any support for Samsung phones like the excellent D600... Does anybody have any intel on getting iSync to play with these for iCal and Address Book together? (A syncing solution can be forced for the Address Book alone via OnSync - http://www.onmadesoft.com/)

No, really. This is a healthy obsession.

Many of the new mobile phones use different core software and are not compatible with the hacks which worked on previous models. The Motorola V3x is a good example. In fact, the Motorola V3x does not even fully support the bluetooth transfer of vcards between other Motorola phones if unsupported fields are used. Full iSync support will require an update from Apple.

And how about RAZR V3m's?
Authored by: gurman on Jun 20, '06 05:30:27AM

Verizon Wireless in the US, the great cripplers of OBEX, no longer sell the V3c, only the newer V3m. I honestly don't know what the difference is, but presumably all the homegrown isync mods for the V3c will not recognize the newer model. Has anyone experimented with editing the existing mods?

TIA.
