Add iSync support for nearly any phone via a plug-in Apps
A bit of self-promotion, but I am sure lots of you might be interested. I spent so many hours researching trial-and-erroring last weekend, so I decided to make an "end of seeking" for all of you.

I set up a website with a step-by-step explanation on how to make almost any modern cell phone iSync-ready. All that's required is modifying a plug-in script that you may download for free from the site. In most cases, your phone will sync iCal and Address Book at the least. There are existing scripts for the following phones: Nokia N70, N90, 6670; Sony Ericsson W550(i), W900; Motorola E1000, RAZR V3i, C350; Siemens S65. If you have a different phone, there are instructions on how to add your own phone. There's also a forum for FAQs.

[robg adds: I haven't tested this plug-in, so I can't vouch for it. However, given the popularity of 'Make phone XYZ work with iSync' hints here, I figured this was worth sharing. If someone tries it out, please post your experiences in the comments.]

Add iSync support for nearly any phone via a plug-in

Hm - does this support pictures as well? iSync doesn't do that for my K750i, and I can't see why it shouldn't. Might be a cool solution...

Yeah, I have a K700 and it would be really nice if the ContactIcon (or whatever it's called) could be sync'd.

Maybe it's not supported because Sony Ericsson doesn't support syncing contact pictures...

So can I create a HTC Wizard plugin? It's a Windows Mobile 2005 device.

Mail Apple about this

It's great that we can help eachother out this way, but Apple should just be quicker in supporting bluetooth devices in the first place. I suggest we all give a hint our V3i and other phones at http://www.apple.com/feedback/isync.html

iSync 'ing a V3i
Authored by: snipper on Mar 04, '06 08:41:13AM

I did exactly what was instructed on the http://en.isync-hilfe.de, but still iSync can't connect to the V3i.

Got the latest versions of OS X, iSync, a brand new Motorola V3i. The phone connects via the G5's Bluetooth just fine, iSync sees it, but even with Steffens mod it doesn't connect. :(

Can the language setting of OS X be of any influence to your script? Any other suggestions?

Won't work on Samsung phones.

If anybody knows any way to sync a Samsung besides OnSync (only for address book not iCal) or DataPilot (not worth the $40), let me know.
