iTunes 6.0.2 now allows per-podcast retention Apps
While looking to see if there was a way to re-force a Podcast download today, I saw a new option in the iTunes context menu that shows up when you Control-Click on a podcast file.

You can now select "Do Not Auto Delete" (or "Allow Auto Delete" if you've previously disallowed auto-delete) to override global delete settings in iTunes. This certainly wasn't there when iTunes first got podcast support, but I don't know how recently it was added.

[robg adds: We generally don't cover items in contextual menus, but given the way this feature was quietly added, I figured it was worth sharing.]

Thank you. Thank you.
I have been puzzling over why oh why were my podcasts not updating.
With this, I fixed the problem and able to continue using iTunes as my podcatcher rather having to split the list between two programs.

Thank you for this valuable hint.
