Sync RSS feeds to an iPod Apps
The iFeedpod freeware app allows you to download your favourite RSS and Atom feeds onto your ipod. I saw this item featured on Wired, so gave it a try -- and it works well. You can choose to have one note per story, or you can group stories from one feed into a single note.

There seems to be a limit on the maximum size of a note, but I think this is an ipod constraint, not a fault of the application. All my favourite feeds worked, except for Gmail. It would be great if there was a way to trigger the app to sync whenever you perform an iTunes update to your pod....

Sync RSS feeds to an iPod

Although not free, the excellent Pod2Go will sync RSS feeds of your choosing to your iPod when you plug in the 'Pod. It also does a lot more and IMO is well worth the $12 asking price.

Pod2Go used to be free, but they started charging once it hit 1.0. I think it's the only time I paid for a previously-free product, because I was/am hooked on its feature set.

What I *REALLY* Want

And would code if I knew how . . . would be an app that would sync my Safari RSS feeds across multiple machines, so that the article sets for the day, and the read/unread markers stayed identical across more than one machine. .Mac can sync your RSS bookmarks, but not whether you've read them or not, or maintain the exact same order. This would be useful for when I read some of my RSS bookmarks at work on my iBook, but then go home later that night -- and end up sifting through tons of stuff I've already read on my PowerMac.

... which is exactly why I use Bloglines. Sure, a real application is much more featureful, but Bloglines works anywhere, and I never have to worry about syncing.
