Since I started using Pages, I've been struggling with the ruler. I've disliked how it functions different than the ruler in TextEdit, in that I couldn't move the hanging indent without moving the whole paragraph over. Nor could I set the indents with such precision as on the TextEdit ruler.
Only recently did I discover ruler shortcuts in Microsoft Word; I could hold Alt to drag any item on the ruler to more precise positions than the default ruler ticks. So, I decided to try some shortcuts in Pages, and discovered the following.

- Hold Command to drag ruler items pixel by pixel.
- Hold Option to drag the first line or hanging indent item independently.
- Hold Command+Option to drag either item pixel by pixel independently.
