Find orphaned photos in iPhoto2 Apps
This hint described an easy way to find photos in your iPhoto library which do not belong to any albums. That's great for versions of iPhoto that support Smart Folders, but my lowly iPhoto2 doesn't have Smart Folders. Not getting the keyboard shortcut correct when removing photos from albums left my library with images I no longer wanted. Worse than that, I'd deleted a whole album and didn't notice, so I had even more orphaned photos in my library.

This AppleScript checks every photo in the library and adds a keyword of your choice to every photo not found in an album, allowing you to go back and review their status more easily.

If you have a lot of orphans, I'd advise you to leave it running overnight. It will, however, rapidly progress through your library if most of them are in albums.
