Create default info cards for new Address Book entries Apps
This is so easy it should be in the Help, but it doesn't seem to be. While the Address Book application lets you alter (in its Preferences) the fields it displays by default, you can't edit the default content of those fields.

However, there's a good workaround. First, create a new entry in the Address Book and edit it to include whatever information you'd like to use by default. Next, export it as a vCard (File: Export vCard), and then keep it on the Desktop, in the Dock, or wherever you like. To use your template, just double-click it (click on it in the Dock, whatever), and it imports as a new Address Book entry containing your default info, ready to be added to.

In fact, you can create as many as you want and name them appropriately -- for example, I have one for Auckland people, another for Sydney people -- whatever.

[robg adds: I had to delete the newly-created card after exporting. If I didn't, Address Book would simply update the existing record (with no new info, obviously) when I opened the "template card" from the Finder.]
