Create 'smart' Gmail filters using Address Book groups

I got fed up trying to create fancy filters in Gmail that would tag the email accordingly, depending on the sender. For example, if the sender is a "friend," the mail would be flagged as "friend;" "workmate" as workmate, etc..

This is a piece of cake in desktop mail applications, but a pain in the backside in Gmail. So I created a little AppleScript to help me do it. Read about it here for more details, or just run the AppleScript (7KB download) for some fun and work out the rest.

[robg adds: I haven't tested this one, since my Gmail account is simply a spam trap of sorts at the moment...]
