Create an iTunes video jukebox

This may be obvious to some, but not to others ... iTunes is now capable of running as a video kiosk. I know that some of us like to download music videos from the iTunes Music Store, and this tip allows you to run your own video playlist in full-screen mode. I blogged it in detail, but here's the quick version:

  1. Create a video playlist. A smart folder that selects "kind" is "quicktime" is one way to do this.
  2. In iTunes' preferences, set iTunes to play videos fullscreen.
  3. Click on the header of the artwork window in the iTunes main interface so that it toggles to read "Now Playing."
  4. Highlight your playlist and click "Play"
Now if you have a spare computer in your office/home, you can run one as a video kiosk. You can even set a video and/or the whole playlist to repeat, if you want it to loop endlessly in the background.
