10.4: Disconnect a Sony Ericsson K750i without a crash System
Tiger only hintThere is a tendency for Macs to crash when disconnecting the USB cable between the Mac and a Sony Ericsson K750i phone. This free patch fixes it; it's called K750iGrabber.

Here's a quote from the above site about the cause of the problem:
After some more investigation, it turned out that the K750i not only provides a card reader interface over USB, but also provides several interfaces for modem and device configuration functionality. As Bluetooth is plenty fast for the former, and there are no Mac device drivers for the latter, I built a simple driver that seizes all those unused USB interfaces and disables them.
[robg adds: I haven't tested this one, but it sounds useful if you've got a K750i...]

This works like a charm with my T-Mobile branded SE D750i too. Best thing: Now i can recharge my phone via USB.

It works here, no probs.
I think it's nice that iPhoto automaticly starts when I connect, and the K750i is used just like any ordinary camera.

Excellent piece of work. Works like a charm as mentioned. Hope somebody can fix the feature of sending SMS via bluetooth using the address book on the K750i soon.

SMSing with Addressbook can work. You need the file: /Applications/Address Book.app/Contents/Resources/Telephony.bundle/Contents/Resources. Somewhere in that file (line 80 for me) is the line:
                    <string>K700</string>
And you either change that line or add another line below it as follows:
                    <string>K750</string>
Restart Addressbook, pair with phone and text away.

Excellent! :-) I submitted this bug to Apple over 3 months ago - too bad Apple doesn't even acknowledge its existence, nor hasn't fixed this in 2 releases :-(
