Easily restore iTunes music ratings after library reinstall

Here is how I keep my iTunes ratings after I reinstall my music library. First, I created five simple playlists named 1-star, 2-star, etc. Next, I sorted all my tracks according to their ratings, and then selected all the now-grouped 1-star rated songs. I put these into the 1-star playlist. Scroll down a bit, and select and drag all the 2-star rated songs to the 2-star list, etc. Then I export each playlist to an XML file.

After I restart iTunes with my newly restored library without the ratings, I just need to select all the tracks in each playlist and 're-rate' them accordingly. Fast and simple.
