Now in 10.4's Preview app, you can hold down the Space Bar and drag large images around -- just like in Photoshop and other programs. I always wanted this in 10.3, so I'm glad it was finally added.

Nothing special happens for me when I do this. What is supposed to happen?

You used to be able to drag to scroll around an image in Panther by pressing option and dragging. I was really upset when I found out I couldn't do that in Tiger or in iPhoto 5. It's weird that apple changed it to space, why would they do that? I cant think of any reason why, but I'm glad that I FINALLY know how to scroll around images again. Thanks!

And: if while pressing space you press cmd you can enlarge the picture. Adding opt to spc-cmd you shrink it (shift does not add anything...)

As a sidenote: this only works when "Scale automatically" (Shift-Command-R) in the View menu is disabled. |
