A script to enable Keyspan DMR with other remotes System
Although the Keyspan Digital Media Remote (DMR) comes with a code map for JVC VCR remotes, remotes from some other brands also work, if you can find out the codes.

To that end, I have created a web page with a script that converts remote control configurations from Linux Infrared Remote Control [LIRC] format to Keyspan DMR format. The script is still young, but I have had some success with configurations for Sony and Pioneer remotes, as well as JVC devices other than VCRs.

I hope someone will find it helpful. I will keep improving it as time allows.

The Center Stage community would understand this need more then the general Mac OS X user. Have you posted any info over there?

They're developing Mac Media Center software, and it's looking very good. There have been posts there about using other remotes with the DMR receiver. Someone wrote a mapper file for JVC remotes, but this will open up several oppertunities.

BTW, your page didn't work for me.

Thanks for the tip about CenterStage. Someone has already posted there.

In what way did the script not work? Did it fail to convert? Did it convert but not work with the Keyspan DMR Mapper? What browser are you using? What LIRC configuration file?

Just wanted to let you know that I was able to use your site to get a Windows Media Center remote to work with the Keyspan receiver on my G4 Mac mini and I'm very pleased.
Thank you for this very useful (if for only a few of us) tool.
