If you have the Developer Tools installed, there are a number of interesting Quartz Composer compositions located in various subdirectories within the /Developer/Examples/Quartz Composer folder. Some of these don't make good screen savers, and some of them take up lots of resources (at least on my 12" PowerBook), but several are pretty cool.
What's better, of course, is that with a few minutes (hours, eons) of fiddling, you can combine and alter the examples however you like. Just stick any composition you like into your user's Library/Screen Savers directory (create it if necessary), and they should show up in the Screen Saver preference pane.
[robg adds: You'll have to dig a bit in the various subfolders to find the usable animations -- and some of them do put a bit of load on the CPU!]
