If you copy an object from Adobe Illustrator 10.0.3 and try to paste it into Photoshop 7.0.1 in Mac OS X 10.4, then Adobe Illustrator will crash and Photoshop will be unable to get the contents of the clipboard.
Illustrator will announce "Acrobat PDF File Format is having difficulties. There was a Macintosh system error (-37)." Photoshop will announce "Could not import the clipboard because the specified format is not in the edition," and then Illustrator will announce "Acrobat PDF File Format is having difficulties. The file may be damaged." Then Illustrator will crash out, but Photoshop won't.
By default, Illustrator copies PDF data to the clipboard. This feature came about when PDF became apart of the Illustrator native file format. You can get around this bug by turning this feature off. Follow these steps in Illustrator:
