10.4: Open all RSS Safari feeds in one tab Web Browsers
Tiger only hintI have all my Safari RSS feeds in a folder on my Bookmarks bar. If you hold the Command key when you click on the RSS folder, all the feeds open in one tab (this is contrary to a normal Command-click on a Bookmarks folder, which will open each URL in its own tab).

This keeps you from having to open individual bookmarks to see a site's RSS feeds -- this can save many clicks if you have a lot of feeds bookmarked. In addition, you can quickly scan for the new articles by setting their color preference in Safari's RSS preferences. Cool

Makes all open Tabs disappear though... But clicking on the 'Back' button makes them re-appear.

BTW is this any different than clicking on the 'View all RSS Articles' entry?

Alternatively, check the 'Auto-Click' option when viewing your bookmarks to make this the default action. I couldn't see the big deal with Safari's RSS handling, till I realized it could be used as an aggregator like this.

You can also select the Auto-Click check box in the bookmarks manager to make the RSS feeds folder you created do the same thing without having to hold down command while you click.

What I did was collect all my feeds in an RSS Feeds bookmark, then created a smart list of RSS feeds to go into the bookmarks bar. This generates all feeds in an aggregate view.

Sorry for replying to my own post, but a couple of points:

1) if you create a smartlist of all your feeds and put it in the bookmarks bar, like I did, then you can quickly call up the feeds with a simple command-number, where number represents the position from the left on the bookmark bar (ie: if your feeds are in the extreme left spot, Command-1 opens that page) HOWEVER, the smart list doesn't report on the number of new feeds. I filed this as a bug to Apple.

2) Given 1), this almost goes without saying, but if you it the way AaronAdams described it, you will get the unread articles count, but you can't command-number access it. I haven't decided if that was a bug, so I haven't filed it.

I just opened a RSS folder with different RSS addresses, and then dragged the icon from the url-input field to the bookmarksbar. In otherwords, you can make a bookmark from an opened multiple RSS folder listing.. Now when i hit command-1 i get my Apple related RSS sites.. just click the following link with Safari 2.0, and you will know what i mean ;) feeds:Apple%20RSS&www.macosxhints.com/backend/geeklog.rdf&www.macrumors.com/macrumors.xml&uuid:0E82E5C1-C5A1-4E44-9255-A4151E8A9702

there is a potential bug or unintended result with this hint, because if you have more than one tab open when you click the RSS bookmark folder in the bookmark's bar (if auto-click is enabled, or command click if it's off) it will close ALL OTHER TABS that were open in that window. Clicking the back button will revert it. I've reported this bug to apple, but there is a way to avoid that problem which simply involves control clicking (right-clicking) on the RSS bookmark folder and selecting "View all RSS articles" which will show the feed aggregate within the tab WITHOUT closing the other tabs. Command right-clicking in the same way will open the aggregate feeds all in a new tab.

No need for Ctrl-Clicking or right clicking. If you have an RSS Feeds folder on your bookmarks bar (and you all should by now!), the "View All RSS Articles" is in the dropdown.
