Safari 1.3 now opens sub-folders in tabs Web Browsers
After returning from a well deserved break I have just completed the OSX 10.3.9 update as well as the security update.

Once all that was sorted I fired up Safari to check on all the sites I browse daily. I have been using tabbed browsing as soon as it was possible in Safari and until now the behaviour with sub-folders with items on the address bar has been consistant. I for example have an item called "Mac" on my address bar which is actually a folder containing about 8 sites I look at, within this is however 2 sub folders, there more for keeping things rationally organised than anything.

Previously when I have opened my "Mac" folder using the "Open in Tabs" option only the first level items were opened, however today much to my surprise I found the items in the sub-folder were also opened.

I am yet to decide if this is a blessing, a curse, or a bug.

I find it a curse - Who would want to open an entire tree of bookmarks?

Yeah, I submitted this as an issue. Now I have to keep multiple areas filled with bookmarks. The sites that change daily and those that only change every week or so. I much preferred a nice organized structure that I decide. Options would be nice.

Safari 1.3 new tab open keystroke?

I never liked Safari right click to open tabs option, I liked Mozilla's grouped tabs with one click. Well now I see I can Command-click to open a folder of bookmarks to open in tabs.
Getting closer.

I believe that they are on the right track, so I consider it a blessing. But they should give more right-click (ctrl-click) options on the folder with the links in it, to give you a better selection of options to choose from, or give the links themselves an option box with a list of options to choose from. Then the tabs would be more controllable. Leaving us the users happier.

Bottom line it's a mac, it can be done, so make it happen. Or do I have to wait for "OS X 10.5 Lion" to come out.

I also noticed this, and was annoyed at first. When I went to the bookmarks to change it, I noticed that there was a new "open in tabs" option. That way you just click on the title and it opens all of them in tabs. Now THAT was nice, since that is what I did everyday anyway!

The 'open in tabs' option is not new with Safari 1.3.

Sorry, I meant "Auto-Tab" (under the bookmarks). It is convienent because you don't to click on "Open in tabs" you just click on the folder.
