Recover from iSync that locks an iCal calendar

This may save someone some trouble. i coudn't find anything anywhere about it, but it seems easy enough to stumble into the problem.

Problem: I got an iPod and began using iSync to capture my contacts and calendar from two computers onto the iPod. I also sync with a .Mac account. Each computer has a different calendar (work and home). It appears that syncing both computers a couple of times eventually resulted in the subscribed version of my work calendar, found on my home computer, being used to update the original published version of my work calendar on the other computer. Result: when I opened my work calendar on the work computer, I was unable to edit items, because the file was marked as a subscribed calendar rather than a published one. I could enter new items but they would become locked immediately on entering them.

Solution: After reading help files (not much help), and some browsing of forums and such, with no luck, I stumbled upon a fix. While looking at ownership and privileges for the work calendar on the work computer, I double clicked the calendar file to see what would happen. iCal happily opened and created a duplicate calendar (Work 2), which I then owned and could edit. After deleting the published copy synced in from my home computer, I was back running again.
