Song jumping shortcuts in the iTunes info window Apps
Command-right arrow (and Command-left arrow) takes you to the next (previous) song in your list when in the Get Info window. This is not documented in the keyboard shortcuts listing within iTunes.

[robg adds: I had some trouble getting this to work, and here's what I found (and confirmed with one other user). When you first open the Get Info window, the Command-arrow shortcuts won't work. But if you click on any other tab, then click back on Summary, the shortcuts will work. So I think I'll stick to the "other" shortcuts -- Command-N and Command-P, for next and previous, as these work without any tab switching (which, as we've covered here before, you can do with Command-1 through Command-4).]

Even Better: CMD-N, CMD-P

If you're in any tab in the Info Window you can always use CMD-N or CMD-P to get to the Next or Previous song. This works great when changing one field on several songs because it keeps your cursor in the same box when it skips to the next file. I've used this to clean up my collection's tags and it sure saves a lot of mousing.

I tended to just leave the mouse over the 'Next' button, change the text, and then click the mouse.

It's cool how the same text box is selected, and I really like the text-box editing keys under OSX. I hate that under WinXP I can't press 'down' to get to the end of the URL in IE (the only browser on the work machines...) and so on.

I will use the Cmd-N/P controls though, I prefer using keyboard over mouse...

For those times when you're stuck with Windows, and you're editing in a text field, whether you're using IE or not: the Home and End keys will do what the Up and Down arrow keys do in an Apple text field. Home takes you to the beginning of a line; End takes you to the end of the line.

I'm so glad you mentioned the CMD-1 thru CMD-4 shortcuts again; I didn't know about them til now and I do a lot of Get Info editing on my home music library since getting my Griffin radioSHARK [which does a fair job, now that they've updated their software to permit "Weekly" scheduled recordings]. I hate reaching for the mouse when I'm doing typing-intensive work such as editing the fields in the Get Info area of iTunes. Thanks!

Another possibly useful tip:

When I delete a song from iTunes, I often want to answer "Yes", that I DO want to send it to the Trash. I tried the tab key first, but it doesn't move focus to the Yes button. I tried CTRL plus various F keys [like CTRL-F7], but that didn't work.

Merely typing the "y" key worked, though.

I thought you would've enabled tabbing through Full Keyboard Access, but it seems not. Another little UI-glitch Apple should fix..

It's probably possible to change the default - by editing the relevant NIB file - there is a hint on here that should give you the idea on how to do it - it's just finding the correct NIB to edit.

Okay, this won't work, as iTunes doesn't use a NIB file for storing this...:-(

You can also press Command+[ or Command+] to navigate through tabs on OSX

Nice.

Too bad those and other tab-navigation shortcuts aren't used more universally in apps (e.g System Preferences).
