As many have noticed, the 10.3.8 update has seemingly rendered useless the formerly very useful option of having the display "automatically adjust as the abient light changes." There seem to be times when, especially under florescent lighting, the display will flicker between 95% and 100% brightness almost constantly. Until Apple releases an update, I want to share a little trick to subdue this behavior.
It seems that if you just manually bring the brightness back up to 100%, it will stop flickering -- this is the F2 key on the 15" PowerBooks. Try it, you'll like it.
[robg adds: I can't confirm this issue, as my 12" PowerBook doesn't offer this option. If others have seen the problem and can confirm the fix, please post in the comments...]
