Use Exposť to work with fullscreen remote desktops Apps
I'm a Windows programmer by day, and a Mac user by night. So when I had to leave work suddenly to take care of a sick family member, it left me in the position of having to use Microsoft's Remote Desktop Client (RDC) to my laptop at the office.

I set RDC to full screen mode, which blocked everything on the Mac display. But then I used Exposť to get to all the Mac applications I had running. I couldn't be happier with this setup -- Exposť completely hid the full-screen RDC connection when activated. So when I hit the All Windows button (F9 on the keyboard, or button three on my mouse), I could get to Entourage, Safari, and the rest of my Mac apps.

I don't know if it is much of a hint, but I'll certainly be using RDC in full-screen mode again in the future.

You can also use Cmd-Tab to switch to any of your OSX apps which will then run over the top of the RDC full screen window. It's handy as you can still see whats going on in the RDC window.

Cmd-Tab on my system actually scrolls through the Windows side of the remote connection. I stumbled across the F9 solution using Exposť and prefer that much better.

I use RDC extensively with my Mac. The slow Shift-F9 is the best Expose dissolve yet. The RDC screen fades into nothingness while the Mac apps fade into existence.

Try and you will be surprised at how good this looks. (Shift-F11 is nice too as the RDC screen rises to the top.)

or use "Cmd+SHIFT+Tab" to switch back if you miss the app you wanted instead of having to make a complete round...

i sometimes use Virtue (or Desktop Manager if that's what you use for multiple desktops) and create a desktop just for RDC or Virtual PC and leave it in full screen mode. then i just switch desktops to get to my other apps.

Just use hide....

If you uncheck the checkbox "Don't show the Macintosh Menu Bar or dock", you can then just go to the top of the screen and your apple menu bar will show up. At this point you can then just Hide remote Desktop. Then, when you want to get back to your sesson, just click on the icon in the dock.

Alternatively, you can also hide the app by going to where the Dock would be and then right clicking (command clicking) and choose hide.

Or even shorter, just use the Tiger-native "Command-H" to hide it.
