Keyboard cycle between Firefox tabs Web Browsers
With a bunch of tabs open in Firefox, you can cycle through the tabs with Command-1, Command-2, Command-3, etc. This will select the respective tab, starting with the leftmost one. This is great for laptop surfing. I just happened upon this accidently when reaching for Command-W to close one, and hit Command-2 instead. Great!

[robg adds: You can also use Control-Page Up and Control-Page Down to cycle through tabs in order, in case you have more than nine open at once. I'm also running this hint to point people towards the Firefox built-in help system: Help -> Help Contents from within Firefox. If you haven't visited it lately, it's come a long way since the pre-1.0 releases. The above keyboard shortcuts are documented in the Tabbed Browsing -> Using Tabbed Browsing section. There are a lot of useful tips in the help, and it's well worth the reading time!]

Keyboard cycle between Firefox tabs

Thanks for the tip. Rob's part, the cycling keystrokes, are what I've been searching for now for quite a while. Now I can remap them using Keyboard Maestro to the same key commands that Safari uses.

I found an extension which let me cycle between the tabs in the same way I did in Safari - it is called TabSwitcher, and I think I downloaded it from www.mozdev.org (direct link= http://tabswitcher.mozdev.org)

Could one you, rbrough or waffffffle, or somebody else be so kind and tell with which command I can cycle through tabs in Safari (crtl-tab, crtl-page-up/down don't work for me, for the record: crtl-page-up works in Mozilla, crtl-tab doesn't).

cmd-shift along with the left/right arrow will move between tabs in Safari.

If you have a mouse with more than two buttons, you can assign one of the shortcuts (Control-Page Up, Control-Tab, etc.) to a button and then click to cycle through tabs.

Another Firefox extension for tab cycling is SwiftTabs (http://heygom.com/extensions/entry.php?blogid=2). Very simple and elegant.

iBook Using Liteswitch

Thanks gang!

Actually, this has been an annoying part of the FireFox experience. Cmd-<numbers> does work but I don't want to count when I have several. Contral-<Page-Up> doesn't always work on my iBooks (with the Fn key). Ctrl-tab would probably work but is already assigned to LiteSwitch. So let's hope that one of these extensions will work...

Thanks for the links!!!
