I recently decided to give Firefox a try, and have been liking it. The only problem I had was its handling of disk images. I thought Firefox was limited to saving images to the hard drive, and then manually opening them (which takes at least two or three seconds). Anyways, setting the pop-up dialog to open with Disk Utility didn't help. Poking around, I found that the mounting of disk images is done by a program named DiskImageMounter.app, which is found in /System -> Library -> CoreServices.
Selecting that as the "Open with" application in Firefox made the disk images automatically mount, and I assume it will also correctly handle the internet-enabled disk images, though I didn't test them.
