A one-way synchronization script for Address Book UNIX
I often user three different Macs, and I tried different solutions for syncing the Address Books on these Macs. Neither a .Mac nor Address-O-Sync give me satisfaction. So I wrote save_address_book (Download page), which is a one-way script to save one Address bBook (the master machine) to others (one or more slave machines). All the modification must me done on the master machine, otherwise modifications will be lost.

[robg adds: I haven't tested this one, but I did look at the script to make sure it's OK to use, and it appears to be fine...]

What's your beef with .Mac? It's what I use with success, so I'd be interested to know what I'd be gaining by using your script instead...

... saving money? I've never understood why Apple requires you to sign up to and pay for a .Mac account just to be able to synchronize two machines sitting on the same desk...

I routinely get data corruption with .Mac - suddenly company names from one card are showing up on another, that sort of thing. I've stopped using it because of that.

This is really a bad luck because I use this since the first day of iSync and I never got a problem and I use it with 3 computers.

I put the script in the Address Book scripts folder and it shows up in the scripts menu but does nothing. How does it work?
