Categorize personal GarageBand settings Apps
This is kind of a simple thing that I finally realized after I have been having trouble with my hard drives in my PowerBook. I have my own settings that I use for guitar and vocals, and I also have Jam Pack #1 installed. This installs its own presets, so you have to dig through everything to find your own settings if you need to back them up. It would be easier to grab one folder than search for each file.

So what I just thought of is why can't I put them in in their own folder. So I went to the GarageBand folder located at Library -> Application Support -> Garageband -> Instrument Library -> Track Settings.

In this folder you will find three folders Master, Real, and Software. For what I use GarageBand for, I use the real instrument tracks. So I went into that folder and created a random folder name like Metal, and then started GarageBand up. Then I added a new track, and went to real instruments. Sure enough, a new category was created in which I could put my own presets.
