Create a self-updating Current Projects folder System
Frustrated by the Recent Items function in the Finder, when an image batch job scrolls all the good stuff off the list, I built one more to my taste using a perl program running under cron. You create a Current Projects folder and place it in the Finder's Sidebar. The keepcurrent script will then make links to changing items that occur in a list of parent directories of your choice.

More details and the script are available at my web site.

I like this idea! I heard a talk recently on Microsoft's project on keeping computer/personal history, and I really wanted to have the "recent files".

Stick around until Spotlight is launched. Then have a live query (or whatever Apple decides to call them) that looks in specific directories, for file-types of the right type, ignoring these filenames [...], and modified in the last X days. Sort the view by date modified.

Grrrreat!
