So we use Stickies for everything it seems, and I'm sure you probably use it to store images as well as text. Here's the problem: You insert an image, then accidentally delete the only copy you have. What do you do to retrieve that exact image file without taking a snapshot or copying and re-exporting into a new file?
Open a new TextEdit window in Rich Text Format (File -> New then Format -> Make Rich Text if your default is plain text). Then drag the image from your Stickies window onto this newly created TextEdit window. Save your TextEdit document (as Rich Text). In the Finder, Control-click on that document you just created, and choose "Show Package Contents" from the pop-up menu. In the new Finder window that opens, you should see the image that's embedded in the TextEdit document. Drag and drop to a convenient location, then trash the new TextEdit document.
