Create playlists from iTunes' browser panel Apps
In the past, if I wanted to add a particular album to a new playlist I always went to my library, then selected the album, hit Command-A to select all the songs, and then dragged the songs to my playlist.

It turns out that there is an easier way, though. Make sure the browser is visible (Edit -> Show Browser), then simply drag the name of the album from the browser pane to the playlist, and all songs from that album will be copied. This also works for selecting all songs in a particular genre, and an individual artist or multiple artists, etc. You can even drag the "All" item to add all songs to a playlist.

And you can also get info on an album/artist and modify the tags for all tracks for that album/artist if the browser pane has the focus when you hit cmd-I.

I'm really surprised this is a hint. This is one of those intuitive things Apple does all the time. I expected it to work the first time I did that (dragged an album) and it did. I've been doing it for a long time. Come on, people. If it seems like it should work, it probably does.

exactly..

a lot of 'hints' are just common-sense stuff if you've used the Mac for more than a day or two ;)

It's still better to post the hints, because what you call "common sense" really isn't that common. I'm grateful for the hint.

Don't complain that this hint is intuitive. In my opinion, Apple did not implement the "intuitive" solution, which would be a smart playlist with the genre, artist, or album that you drag and drop, instead of an ordinary fixed playlist. If I drag an artist from the browse pane over to the playlist, chances are it's because I want all songs by that artist in a playlist, not just all songs I currently have in my collection. If I subsequently rip a new album to my collection by that same artist, that new album does not show up in the artist playlist created by this method.
