VirtualPC 6.1 includes a number of AppleScripts, which are available under its built-in "scripts" menu. Apparently included for diagnostic use, the scripts give control over emulator settings which are not accessible through the standard preferences dialog box.
Activating any of the scripts first brings up an obligatory warning from Microsoft, stating that the script is only to be used if instructed to do so by technical support. After that, it gives you the choice of enabling or disabling the setting to which the script is related.
The true effect that changing any of these settings has on VirtualPC's performance is debatable. However, the scripts can at the very least be used to resolve some problems. For instance, the "Set Networking Type" script allows you to switch VirtualPC's network interface from sockets to OpenTransport. I personally found this useful in getting VirtualPC to work with my DSL connection.
Hope this helps.
