Ever want to put that Mac OS X voice box to the test? Here's a chance to have your OS X machine read the news from RSS feeds to wake you up in the morning, or whenever you want to hear the news instead of read it. All you need is wget (also available via Fink) installed, and this perl script I wrote called speak_up.
Other than that, OS X (tested on 10.3.5 with the Developer Tools installed) has all the perl you need to be up and running. In the script, I have comments on how you can configure it or run it out of the unix scheduler (cron) with different sites throughout the day.
