I'm using Safari 1.2 (v125) on Mac OS X Version 10.3.5. If I type bookmarks: (include the colon!) in the address bar, I'm taken to Safari's bookmark manager.

Isn't option-command-b easier? :-)

or click the litle book icon in the toolbar...
Yes, "option+cmd+b" is much easier
I'm with you on that one, blalor, because (if you are going to use the keyboard to access bookmarks) "option+cmd+b" takes less strokes to invoke as opposed to typing "(cmd+L) b+o+o+k+m+a+r+k+s+:"

Just to add a third way... or choose "Show All Bookmarks" from the Bookmarks menu. :)

Install a copy of Pith Helmet; it adds rule-based ad blocking to Safari and has an option to make animated gifs animate only once.

In playing around with this, I tried typing help: and it brought up Chess.app!
Then I remembered I had mapped all Safari-downloaded help files to open with something other than the OS X Help Viewer back during the virus scare earlier this year. Mildly interesting at best, but I wonder what else besides bookmarks: and help: can be used?

I just tried
help:search=safari in Safari 2.0 and it brought up Help Viewer and searched for "safari" automatically!

Oh foo (bar). . . I thought you meant the Address Bar. Safari must be the only broswer in the world that doesn't have a Bookmarks button unless you have your personal toolbar open.
Anybody got a workaround for that? (Besides keeping SafariStand bar open?) (Hell, any tips on Stand would be welcome too. . .my Japanese is a little weak.) |
