Panasonic KX-P 7105 printing in OS X 10.3.4 System
Just wanted to share my experience getting the KX-P 7105 printer to work with our new Powerbook G4 (OS X 10.3.4).

Installing the latest Gimp-Print drivers (4.2.7-0, 5.9MB) and selecting the driver "Select HP Laserjet 6 series CUPS + GimpPrint v4.2.7" gets this printer working when either connected directly to the computer via USB, or indirectly via a wireless connection to a Windows network. I'm unable to get duplex working though.

I was not able, after considerable experimentation, to get the printer to work at all (single sided or duplex) using the other hint on this site (Enable duplex printing on the Panasonic KX-P7105). That hint uses Laserjet 5 series drivers; elsewhere on the net, Laserjet 4 drivers are suggested. I tried all these before hitting on the one above, which worked. But as I said, no luck with duplexing in any way yet.

Hope this saves you the time I had to put in.

This worked great for my HP LaserJet 4p. None of the other Gimp or HP drivers had worked. Thanks.

Thanks!

OS 10.3.7 Printing to an HP LaserJet 4 Plus

I was getting a "W2 INVALID PERS" error using the drivers from HP.

The HP LaserJet 4 series - CUPS+GimpPrint v4.2.7 driver did the trick.

I use the HP Laserjet 6 Series driver to print to a Kyocera Mita FS1000+ Laser printer shared on a Win XP box from my Mac. The gimpprint drivers work great :)

I am using the usbtb CUPS USB backend and I chose the "HP LaserJet Series CUPS v1.1" driver (as recommended on www.cups.org). Works fine, including duplex mode.
