the 'compliation' attribute
why use the composer field when you have the 'compilation' attribute? just make a smart playlist that has the one condition: "compilation is set". then name that smart playlist "_Compilations" or something. voila! no misusing ID3 tags.

The reason is that if you use composer attribute, you can navigate compilations by album name on the ipod. If you use the smart playlist method, you loose that information.
the 'compliation' attribute

the 'compliation' attribute
Indeed the bug problem with this tip is that it wipes out any "real" information you may already have in the Composer field! There's no way to just "add" text to that field... you will be overwriting the contents instead. Ouch. |
