An easy way to capture iSight image stills in iChat Apps
I was looking for a simple way to take an image capture with my iSight, without using an add-on. I discovered that if I turned on iChat and clicked on my camera icon to view the video, I could then just hit Command-C to copy, and it would copy the current image as a still to the buffer. From there, I could then paste into Preview or Graphics Converter or whatever.

Mac simplicity at its finest!

Can't you use iMovie for this too?

and if that feature weren't included, you could always rely upon the trusty screen capture cababilities of you Mac.

Though Image capture via Apple-Shift-3/4 only captures to the quality of your monitors and not the actual reperasentation of data before it is printed onto the screen

I don't have an iSight hooked up, but when I go to the Audio menu in iChat there is an option that says "take snapshot"
Why not use that?

I don't know what version of iChat AV you have though and whether this menu item is new.
