A how-to guide for iSync and the Sony Ericsson P900 System
For the last two weeks, I have been unable to sync a P900 phone with an Apple PowerBook using Apple's iSync application. Yesterday afternoon, I solved these problems thanks to a fellow Apple user Brandon Jenkins.

I have recorded my experiences in a PDF guide. I found the whole experience very frustrating and hope that this guide will assist other Sony Ericsson users.

Why is this needed?

My P900 has worked with iSync since I bought it last November. I had one issue when it stopped syncing after the apple bluetooth software was updated, but it was easily fixed. Granted, I haven't updated my firmware since R4A06. Did a more recent firmware update break P900 connectvitiy?

Yep, it appears that a recent FirmWare update has broken iSync connectivity. There are many, many threads on various boards, including Apple Discussions, covering this issue.

If this hint fixes this bug (my iSync works fine with my ancient FirmWare version, so I can't test it), there will be happy people aplenty the world over.

Apparently I have ancient firmware...

Apparently I have ancient firmware, because I've never had any problems.

Here's my question -- how the heck do I find out what improvements are IN the firmware upgrades? I assume that there are improvements to some the apps, and maybe there's something there I'd want, but I can't figure out how to find this out.

Since I have to use VPC to do a firmware upgrade, and the data restore failed last time I tried it, I'm unlikely to upgrade unless I know what I'm getting out of it. Thanks!
