After working with GarageBand and putting my songs into iTunes, I wanted to create my own artwork. but didnt want to move too many files around and wanted a quick five-second way to add my artwork. So I tried the handy "capture screen region to clipboard" feature in OS X (Command-Shift-Control-4, then drag a region). This then allowed me to copy a portion of my desktop photo, which was a picture of my son and I, and then control-click in the artwork window in iTunes and select Paste. Boom, my photo and personal artwork was now done for my GarageBand songs in iTunes.
I'm loving it ... probably a useless hint for some, but it allows you to personalize your songs in iTunes a little more. You could do the same thing to use portions of your iPhoto image collection, for example.
