A Quicktime Broadcaster and QT 6.5.1 workaround Internet
For those of you who installed Quicktime 6.5.1 and QT broadcaster, you might notice that it doesn't work. Don't worry, most people I talk to are experiencing the same thing.

Though its GUI isn't as pretty, and the options are more limited, Darwin Streaming Server [10.1mb download] includes a broadcast server that seems to work great. Plus you don't have to drop a grand on OS X Server! I've got it working with little setup and am watching TV on my G3 via my G4's FireWire A/V IO box right now. Here is a direct download link.

Note: you must be running 10.2.8 or higher to use this software, and you'll need to login to Apple's Open Source site to use the above download link.

i can't, for the life of me, log in to that site. i used my AppleID (i'm an ADC member), i got thrown back to the login screen. i created a new ID at the signin link on the page, tried with that, i got thrown back to the login screen.

am i wearing the wrong colour t-shirt or something?

i really need to get that file. any suggestions?

I was able to get in using my .mac ID, and download all the different versions EXCEPT the MACOSX version (go figure).

it either tries to download a 2k file, or, if I right-click (so to speak) on the link and download, I get a .dms file that the OS doesn't know what to deal with.

So..no streamng for me? (getting tired of making folks download massive QT files before viewing)
