I don't know if this qualifies as a hint or not, but thought more people should know about this tool. I'm a daily frequenter of VersionTracker, so I was surprised to discover this today.
Apparently, Pashua makes using almost any kind of script (especially command-line, but it will handle AppleScript as well) a breeze by creating a 'dialog GUI' with which to run the script.
I've barely tried the software, as I just discovered it and have not gotten too involved with scripting because of the learning curve involved. But judging from the raves in the comments at VT, this software should be making it into to more and more people's Applications folders every day ... and it's freeware!
[robg adds: Using Pashua, it seems you can easiily present a simple GUI front-end to your shell scripts, making it easy to distribute them to those OS X users who prefer not to venture into the Terminal. I gave it a quick look-see, and I think I'll probably use it to add simple GUIs to a few of the scripts in my ~/bin folder that run with command line arguments. It looks quite simple to use, even to a non-programmer like myself.]
