Import Mozilla calender entries into iCal Apps
Trying to import Mozilla calendar entries into iCal should be a no-brainer. But although they use the same format, the import of the exported Mozilla file does not work. It just imports the first entry. This seems to be due to the presence of:
END:VCALENDER
BEGIN: VCALENDER
between each entry. I erased them and placed my export file in the ~/Library -> Calender directory, restarted iCal, and voila -- it worked! So if you have problems with importing something, check the files. They do not have to have big differences to cause an import failure.

humm... I thought iCal used the icalendar format and not the older vcalendar format.

I think both are similar, but there is a slight difference. (I believe one of the formats aloos for "invites" and "invitees")

well, another problem may be that you're misspelling "calendar"...

from dictionary.com "calender n. - A machine in which paper or cloth is made smooth and glossy by being pressed through rollers."

You corrected a poster's spelling? How very clever of you!

Well, spelling does matter. Anyone who's done coding and been befuddled by why a certain variable was undefined when, in fact, it was not the precise variable in question can attest to the importance of spelling.
More generally, it can indicate one's attention to detail and, hence, one's desire to communicate clearly.

My labmate's almost finished a patch to Mozilla to correct this problem. They're the only ones who put BEGIN/END VCALENDAR around every event. However, it is allowed by the spec for .ics files and iCal should probably be able to deal with it.

I came to the same conclusion that the extra

END:CALENDAR
BEGIN:CALENDAR

tags put in by Mozilla Calendar/Sunbird are causing Apple iCal to ignore all events beyond the first. Apple should have implemented the standard better.

Have you got a patch working yet?

If not, I bet some grep magic would do the trick.

Now if I could only get my Address Book files into Firefox' address book I could be a real-live mozilla-freak
