Remote control a Mac from a PocketPC

I was looking for a "Salling Clicker"-like program to use with my PowerBook and PocketPC, since I was using my T610 to control my Keynote presentations. But after e-mailing the author and getting a not too optimistic response, I looked for a way to do this myself. Enter a prolonged experience trying to get Remote Desktop to work for XP and I started thinking, "Could I use this in some way with my Keynote and PowerBook so I don't have to tie up my phone?" Bottom line it works great and it was free to do! I am not sure if others have done this yet, but here is my experience...

Hardware:
Pocket PC 1945

Software:
Missing Sync 1.2
OSXVNC
vncview.Zippy (renamed to .zip and then copied and run on Pocket PC)

What I did:

  1. I installed OSXVNC and set it to start when computer is running.
  2. Renamed, unzipped vncview.zippy to pocket PC and ran program at first nothing happened so...
  3. Reinstalled Missing Sync since there was no bluetooth connnection, once I restarted everything I initialized a bluetooth sync and mounted the pocketpc. Launch the viewer on the device and it asked for my password. Enter. Next thing I know I am looking at a portion of my 12" powerbook desktop.
  4. Launched Keynote remotely through the finder. hit Play and boom! My Thumbpad allowed me to advance through the powerpoint just like the clicker! Now I can see and access all my programs on my Mac (albeit in sections)
Sorry Jonas! I would have paid bucks for this! I apologize if this does not work for anyone else, I was unaware what a breakthrough I was going to have so I was not into documenting all my steps, but I am not a real techie or Linux guy and I had it working in about 1/2 hour of seriously trying (unlike Remote Desktop for XP).
