If you really want that sweet looking G5 machine, but your boss doesn't believe your current system is too slow, use this trick.
Set your time a few hours ahead (don't get to excited, or else the outcome will be really shocking) in the System Preferences, and launch an installer. Now when the installer is installing (you know the window displaying the blue bar and the time remaining), set back your time in the System Preferences.
The installer will think that the progress it has made in the time you changed back your time took it that time plus the difference in time you set your sytem time to. The installer will use this information to compute all the remaining time until the installation is done, so you'll see a much higher estimate than it should be. Now get your boss to come and take a look.
Note that this is only a funny glitch, do not misuse ;)
